As I stated earlier, in my case it took us 3 complete years just before we truly saw our Dutch bike shop take off. Though we enjoyed a fairly high degree of sales through this time, our start-up expenses (which includes rent, rates, and so on) ate into any prospective profit.
Instead of depend on taking any dollars out of our organization for the duration of this initial period, we had to continue with our other companies, which in the time included, amongst other enterprises, a landscape gardening home business and operating a boating lake.
Therefore we (‘we’ becoming my company partner and I) lived on the earnings from each these companies, which in reality meant operating day and night, seven days per week, for 3 years.
